New Year’s Eve:
The club will be open for dinner on New Year’s Eve for a la carte service. Chef Karlo will prepare the year’s most popular appetizer and dinner specials and we will serve complimentary champagne.
Our Member Appreciation night on Monday, December 5thwas very well attended and members seemed to have a great time relaxing and spending time with fellow members. Thanks to everyone who came out to this special event and to all who supported the pro shop sale.
During the evening, Barney Barnett, our club president, thanked the staff and the members for another good year at the club. He mentioned that we would be reconstructing many of the forward tees on the golf course in 2017, purchasing some other needed supplies for the club and that there would be a small increase in dues and other fees. Bryan Moran, our head golf professional, then awarded the following golf awards:
Most rounds lady: Mary Wasko (48)
Most rounds men: John Hasty (219)
Most improved lady: Betsy Phillips (27.4 to 24.0)
Most improved male: Clayton Hollis (21.6 to 15.4)
Most improved junior: Nick Kresl (2.6 to 1.6)
Jenkins’ Cup Winner: John Rector
I was then privileged, on behalf of the Polk County Amateur Championship, to award Barney and Carol Barnett the Charley Stine award for their outstanding contribution to the game of golf in our area.
Then, as always, the highlight of the evening was Barney’s announcement of the Member of the Year award. Congratulations to Mickey Barbree for winning this prestigious award. Her son Bryan, daughter-in-law Bethanny and grandson Bruce were there to share this special moment with her.

Teaching and Club Fitting
- The holiday season is a great time to purchase a lesson packages as a gift to the golfer in your family.
- Come out and get fit for some new clubs from Titleist and Ping on our new launch monitor.
You may notice some fill dirt arriving at the club in preparation for our forward tee reconstruction project that is scheduled to start early January. This will give all golfers who play the forward tees a larger teeing surface.
The course is in good shape and we would love to see you enjoy the course as much as possible over the holidays!
