Course Conditions 8/4/17

Golf course conditions are extremely wet after approximately a ¾ inch of rain yesterday afternoon.  Therefore, only walking is allowed today (the club has some pushcarts available).

The North end of the driving range, as well as the chipping and putting greens are open.

We regret any inconvenience this has on your golf schedule.

Course Conditions Update

The course will open to carts at noon today.  It is wet out there, so please follow all directional signs and stay on the cart paths as much as possible.

The Father-Child Event is scheduled for a 9:00 am shotgun tomorrow.  We are looking forward to a fun time with most groups playing 18 holes.  Little ones that only play only nine holes may join us on the patio at about 11 am for activities.

Do not forget to honor dad by bringing him to the Father’s Day Brunch this Sunday

Golf

The Father-Child golf tournament is right around the corner on Saturday, June 17.th  This year it will include special activities for the little ones.  Please see attached flyer and plan to participate. 

 

Golf Course

It was great to see some rain last night.  We received 1.6 inches.

The course will be closed on Mondays from now until Labor Day.

This Monday, we will be deep aerifying the greens and top dressing.  Aerification is a necessary practice that:

  • Removes organic matter that constantly builds under the surface
  • Allows better gaseous exchange to the roots
  • Increases root development and turf health

In addition, we will do our annual mole cricket application called “Chipco Choice”.

The Jenkins Cup 2017 overall champion is Mr. Ray Phillips.  He beat Greg Ellis 2 & 1 in the final match.  Lone Palm would like to congratulate Ray on winning this prestigious event for the first time.

  • Saturday winner was Shamus Kane with a net score of 64 with pro Rickie Fowler shooting a 71 for a total score of 135.
  • Sunday winner  was Kyle Thomas with a net score of 68 with pro Charl Schwartzel shooting a 69 for a total score of 137.
